Job Description

Overview: The Ophthalmologist Consultant Phaco Surgeon plays a crucial role in our healthcare organization particularly in the specialized field of eye care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing cataract surgeries using the latest phacoemulsification techniques providing exceptional patient care and ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients. This position requires a thorough understanding of ocular anatomy recent advancements in eye surgery and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with nurses technicians and other healthcare professionals. The Ophthalmologist will also educate patients on their condition create treatment plans and conduct followup examinations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cataract surgeries using phacoemulsification techniques.
  • Conduct thorough preoperative examinations and assessments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options.
  • Monitor and manage postoperative care for surgical patients.
  • Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure highquality patient care.
  • Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmology and surgical techniques.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and participate in case discussions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participate in outreach programs to promote eye health awareness.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior medical staff and residents.
  • Evaluate visual performance postsurgery and recommend rehabilitative services.
  • Address complications associated with eye surgery as needed.
  • Conduct clinical research and contribute to publications as required.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Medical degree (MBBS) and completed residency in ophthalmology.
  • Fellowship in cataract or refractive surgery is highly preferred.
  • Valid medical license to practice in India.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ophthalmic surgery.
  • Strong understanding of ocular diseases and surgical techniques.
  • Proven track record of successful cataract surgeries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong commitment to patient care and ethical practices.
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and surgical equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Skilled in patient consultations and followups.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Basic knowledge of research methodologies in clinical settings.
