Internship Opportunities Inclusion Support Intern Salem Public Schools INTERNAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY
Hours: MondayThursday (45 hours per day) July 7August 7 2025
Job Description: As an Inclusion Support Intern for the Special Education Department Summer Program you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with students with various disabilities. This internship will introduce you to working within the classroom setting. This is a great opportunity for students who want to explore teaching social work physical therapy occupational therapy counseling speech therapy or other human service oriented careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Interaction: Interact with and support students during a variety of activities including breakfast lunch learning activities socialization and recreation time under the supervision of a teacher.
- Classroom Preparation: Assist in classroom activities set up organization and clean up.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure a positive learning environment for all students.
- Data Collection: Assist with data collection and willingness to learn assistive technology.
Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years old
- Interns must complete all Salem Public Schools required paperwork before the start of the internship.
- Interns must be able to work all 5 weeks up to 20 hours per week
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reports to work as scheduled sign in and remain on the job until dismissed.
- Notifies the summer director at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
- Displays patience a positive attitude and willingness to learn to work with students with a wide variety of abilities.
- Be open to feedback and working collaboratively
