Maintenance Technician I: $33.98 $42.48
Maintenance Technician II:$37.94 $47.42
APPOINTMENTS TO MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I OR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II POSITIONS WILL BE DETERMINED BY LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE.
Definition
Under general supervision performs a variety of semiskilled construction maintenance modification and repair activities in assigned maintenance operations areas which may include aquatic centers pools fountains facilities and service centers and performs related work as required.
Supervision Received and Exercised
Receives direct or general supervision from Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Coordinator. Exercises no direct supervision over staff. May provide technical and functional direction to less experienced staff.
The Ideal Candidate Will
Maintain and repair complex systems and maintain records.
Inspect contractors work and inspect existing and new City infrastructure in regard to pumps motors pools and fountain infrastructure. Install maintain repair equipment and ensure proper operation.
Be required to service overhaul repair and replace motors pumps filters piping check valves copper and PVC piping and water storage.
Have expertise and certification in water quality testing and proper chemical application and adjustments is required.
Perform electrical work in connection with pumps motors lighting pool and fountain controls.
Implement safe and proper working procedures including the use of common hand and power tools.
Be required to work an alternating schedule of weekend work emergency call outs and some holidays.
Be able to start work at 4:00 a.m. per department scheduling requirements on a rotational basis.
Knowledge of:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education
Maintenance Technician I and II: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
AND
Experience
Maintenance Technician I: One (1) year of assignmentrelated maintenance experience.
Maintenance Technician II: Two (2) years of experience performing skilled or semiskilled maintenance duties equivalent to those of the class of Maintenance Technician I.
