Admissions Specialist Admitting ER

Work location:Texas Health Plano 6200 West Parker Road TX 75093

Work hours:PRN: Rotating Schedule with variable schedule to include days evenings nights weekends and be available for1 week of system trainingat612 E Lamar Blvd Arlington TX 76011 and at least two weeks of classroom training required Monday Friday from 8:30 AM 5 PM at500 E Border Arlington TX; Training weeks may not be consecutive.

Heres What You Need:

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 Year Relevant Customer Service experience required
  • 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience preferred
  • 5 Years Customer Service preferred and
  • 6 Months Demonstrated knowledge of intermediate computer skills preferred or
  • 1 Year Healthcare referral processing scheduling preferred
  • CHAA Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire preferred And
  • CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 days required

What You Will Do:

  • As a compassionate member of the care team will welcome patients and their families when they arrive putting them at ease and setting the tone for the rest of the visit.
  • During the patient interaction accurately gathers complete demographic information to ensure electronic health record integrity consistent with high reliability organization principles.
  • To ensure a seamless visit identifies correct network coverage and obtains and/or validates healthcare benefits and/or precertification for applicable tests and/or procedures. These efforts maximize reimbursement for services rendered.
  • Educates patients and/or families about applicable legal ethical and compliance documents; ensures regulatory consents are signed by the appropriate parties.
  • Engages with patients in understanding their financial obligations based on the financial policy and accurately prepares estimates to collect copayments selfpay deposits and patient balances.
