Position Summary
The University of Idahos Department of Curriculum & Instruction and the College of Education Health and Human Sciences are pleased to announce the availability of a fulltime 9month nontenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in STEM Education. Rank is negotiable based on how the candidate meets the criteria outlined in the department and college bylaws. We aim to recruit a dynamic individual who will independently lead a highly specialized or multifaceted research program based on seeking and obtaining externally funded projects in STEM Education. Individuals will actively pursue submissions of proposals for externally sponsored funding and are expected to serve as the principal investigator on sponsored projects. The ideal candidate would maintain active research collaborations internal and external to the university with the purpose of increasing the quantity and quality of funded proposals in the college. Summer contract to be negotiated annually with the Department Chair/Dean. This position has a flexible work location and the candidate has the option of working remotely with a few required inperson events such as new faculty orientation and select collegelevel meetings. Duties may include: Selecting developing and managing an independent research portfolio related to STEM Education or one or more of the discipline areas in STEM Education Coordinating teams and submitting for external sponsored funding Serving in leadership positions on externally funded projects Supporting efforts to increase quantity and quality of externally funded proposals submitted and obtained in EHHS Working with EHHS faculty Department Grants Administrators the Office of Sponsored Projects and Office of Research and Economic Development to increase funding in the EHHS Performing complex scientific analyses (quantitative or qualitative) Writing and publishing peer reviewed publications or presentations Technical project management including developing the scope of work budgeting scheduling reporting implementing field projects and approving scientific documents Coordinating efforts between EHHS and other colleges with disciplinaryspecific faculty Provide evaluative support on proposals internal and external to EHHS Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in STEM Education Science Education Technology Education Engineering Education Mathematics Education or a related field 5 years of research experience beyond receipt of doctoral degree 3 years of experience managing and conducting significant original research (PI) or serving as senior collaborator on a multischolar research initiative (CoPI or Senior Personnel) Demonstrated record of ongoing research achievement including participation in the development and submission of sponsored project proposals Demonstrated record of leading peerreviewed publications in STEM Education or related fields

PI on externally funded projects from the National Science Foundation Department of Education Institute of Education Sciences National Institute of Health or other related federally funded agency
