Responsibilities

As an Associate with Hines you will be responsible for working closely with the senior leadership in the Portfolio Modelling division of Investment Management. The primary role is to support the management of client portfolios by creating and implementing modelling tools that enable management to better understand the performance at an asset and fund level. The position will involve various activities for multiple clients from the daytoday operations of existing investment platforms to supporting the formulation of strategy for new and existing vehicles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supports portfolio modeling

  • Determine fund performance and investor returns for internal and external reporting

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts for investor reporting and in response to other inquiries

  • Support hold/sell analysis by providing fundlevel returns for various scenarios

  • Track and manage fund liquidity

  • Monitor debt compliance at fund and asset levels

  • Review asset models on a quarterly basis

  • Support internal risk management by providing Key Risk Indicators and stress testing models on a biannual basis

  • Provide ongoing modelling support and training for other teams within Investment Management

  • Support capital raising by responding to Due Diligence Questionnaires received from prospective investors

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution; and relevant accounting economics finance or real estate qualification preferred
  • Two to five years of work experience in a financial modeling commercial real estate investment or finance function
  • Advanced Excel skills including VBA

  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills and advanced cashflow modeling skills

  • Familiarity with best practice modelling standards e.g. ICAEW Modelling Code

  • Strong communication listening and organisational skills

  • Strong report writing skills/presentation skills

  • Selfstarter and team player who embraces collaboration

  • Accurate under time pressure and exceptional attention to detail

  • Flexible approach to work

  • Ability to work overtime as required by circumstances
