We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer to lead project scheduling progress monitoring and delay analysis across our construction projects including factory and industrial developments. The candidate must have over 8 years of experience in the construction industry and demonstrate advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 AutoCAD MS Excel and MS Project.
This role involves supporting both precontract and postcontract phases building baseline schedules performing forensic schedule analysis and preparing highquality progress reports and dashboards. The Planning Engineer will work closely with project managers site teams and commercial departments and must be able to present findings clearly to management and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Scheduling & Control
- Develop and manage detailed baseline schedules (Level 1 to 4) using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Define WBS critical paths and resourceloaded timelines.
- Implement and monitor performance metrics including SPI CPI and Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Conduct scenario analyses and update schedules based on actual vs. planned progress.
Delay Analysis & Claims Support
- Perform forensic delay analysis (Time Impact Analysis Windows AsPlanned vs. AsBuilt).
- Identify and classify delays (excusable compensable concurrent).
- Prepare robust Extension of Time (EOT) claims with all supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with contracts and commercial teams to validate claims.
Change & Risk Management
- Analyze schedule impact from change orders and variations.
- Propose and implement mitigation/recovery strategies.
- Maintain a risk register and integrate risk responses into project schedules.
Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly progress reports dashboards and Scurves for internal and external stakeholders.
- Create professional presentation materials for management and client updates.
- Advise project teams on acceleration strategies (fasttracking crashing).
- Participate in coordination meetings with consultants contractors and client representatives.
- Report schedule impacts and updates directly to the Project/Planning Manager.
Tender & Bidding Support
- Develop preliminary schedules for tender submissions and precontract planning.
- Assess and communicate timerelated risks to estimating and commercial teams.
- Assist in the development of program strategies during the tendering phase.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or related field.
- 8 years of experience in construction planning with exposure to factory construction (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 MS Project AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials methods and project documentation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Experience in delay analysis EOT claims and contractual correspondence.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tight deadlines.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in factory industrial or process plant construction projects.
- Professional certifications such as PMISP AACE PSP or CIOB.
- Familiarity with 4D/5D BIM tools such as Revit and construction simulation software.
- Knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence tools is a plus.
