The Opportunity
Distribution BlueScope Australia is looking for a Senior Commercial Partner to join the National Finance team based in Brisbane. The Distribution business includes Orrcon Distribution BlueScope Distribution Metalcorp and Impact Steel.
Reporting to the East Coast Commercial Manager you will partner with the Queensland State Manager and State Leadership Team to provide commercial and financial leadership direction and stewardship. You will look beyond just the numbers and build a broad business understanding to deliver meaningful commercial insights and advice with a strategic mindset.
This is your opportunity to showcase your expertise in a highly visible role as you partner with the State Manager to maximise shareholder value enhance EBIT and cash flow and optimise the balance sheet of the Queensland business. What Will You Do
working collaboratively with leaders across the business you will:
- maximise commercial performance: partner with the State Manager to develop and implement strategies to enhance EBIT and optimise the balance sheet aligned to business objectives
- support decision making: provide expert financial advice modelling and scenario analysis to lead business leaders in making informed decisions
- oversee compliance and risk management: ensure effective financial controls and governance are embedded
- drive innovation and different ways of thinking: monitor the internal and external environment to identify improvement opportunities and new technologies
More About You
Were looking for a motivated professional with extensive finance and commercial experience. You will bring:
- a tertiary qualification in Accounting Finance or Commerce with CPA/CA qualifications
- an understanding of how different businesses operate beyond financial data where you can influence commercial strategy and decisions
- proven success in identifying and driving improvement initiatives that have had significant commercial outcomes
- the ability to proactively engage and influence your key customers and build strong relationships throughout the business
