The Deconstruction Associate assists with deconstruction and procurement projects of the affiliate. Deconstruction projects include kitchen cabinet set removal as well as light salvage of interior items such as cabinetry doors lights or hardwood flooring. The salvaged materials and collected donations are sold in the ReStore to the general public to raise funds in support of building affordable homes for families in Lexington.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Selfstarter with ability to work independently or in small teams with other staff and volunteers.
- Physical ability to complete work on the job site or in the warehouse/shop.
- Ability to frequently lift 75100 lbs.
- Ability to learn safe and skillful use of power tools and tools and machinery including forklift skid steer truck and trailer and large trucks.
- High school graduate. No specific training required. Interest in or knowledge of construction or deconstruction preferred.
- Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds.
- Can work efficiently effectively and safely in both an individual and a team work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in tasks related to deconstruction projects. This includes the safe and efficient salvaging of materials from houses prepared for demolition as well as from houses undergoing rehabilitation or remodeling.
- Help plan and coordinate the execution of projects safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrate superb customer service skills.
- Supervise and train volunteers on the job sites shop areas and warehouse while providing whatever materials tools and assistance needed to assure a satisfying and safe experience for volunteers.
- Assist ReStore staff to appropriately price and merchandise salvaged materials.
- Organize and inventory tools and materials.
- Assist with outreach to community and local organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to large item pickups largescale salvage projects building of carts and displays for store use and paint recycling.
- Assist with other ReStore operations when needed.
PreEmployment Screenings: Prior to being hired applicants are required to pass a preemployment physical which includes a drug/alcohol screening. Additionally a criminal background check and review of the candidates driving history record will also be conducted.

The position requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more with or without corrective lenses and color determination vision. The position requires the ability to grasp reach stoop climb ladders or scaffolding up to 6 feet high speak listen and distinguish different odors. Employee must be able to frequently lift carry objects between 75100 lbs. and push and pull objects up to 200 lbs. Approximately 50% of work may be in nontemperature controlled conditions possibly outdoors in warehouses or at donor facilities. The remainder of the time the work place will be in the ReStore office and retail space which are smokefree and temperature controlled.
