Job Description

Scope of Position

The Fitness Center Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean safe and welcome environment for all guests. He/she will oversee equipment usage maintain facility cleanliness administering safety protocols and offering basic assistance to all guests. The Fitness Center Attendant will recommend and inform guests on services available within the resort.

Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
  • Previous experience in a fitness or customer service setting preferred.
  • Outstanding guest services skills professional presentation and sophisticated communication skills.
  • Work independently multitask in a fast pace everchanging environment.
  • Knowledge of basic fitness equipment and facility safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous and friendly assistance to all guests who enter the fitness center.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the fitness equipment rental equipment and the studio space.
  • Be able to accurately explain the fitness center equipment and its proper use.
  • Adhere to the operational procedures of the Fitness Center.
  • Report any maintenance of safety concerns to the appropriate department.
  • Assist guests with arranging any rental equipment including bikes basketballs and fishing gear.
  • Issue guest lockers during visits to the fitness center and clean the lockers upon guest departure.
  • Properly rotate clean/dirty towels via the laundry as necessary throughout the day.
  • Maintain marketing displays inventory and sales of retail products.
  • Complete transactions via cash credit or room charge efficiently while maintaining PCI compliance standards.
  • Properly maintain and record daily transactions and bank deposits including overages & shortages.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education

  • High school diploma

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
  • Ability to perform proper chemical handling cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must be physically fit in order to lift pull and push items up to 100 pounds.
  • Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
