Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and communitybased services.
The Department
Haematology at the Alfred has the largest number of Haematologists of a service in Australia. The MalignantHaematology and Stem Cell Transplantation Service and the Haemostasis / Thrombosis Unit and the HaemophiliaCentre support haematology patients from the greater Melbourne area and adult haemophilia patients from all ofVictoria. These are just some of the factors attracting a very large portfolio of treatment trials to our unit. The Clinical Research Unit (CRU) oversees a large number of trials from Phase 1 firstinhumans to Phase 3 randomised controlled trials. These trials are testing treatments ranging from newly developed drugs straight from the biotech companies to established drugs being used in new regimens. We have gene therapy studies Car Tcell and BiTE studies in our exciting list of studies. Our research ranges from large pharmaceutical companies biotech companies and universities to inhouse investigatorinitiated.

The Nurse Manager is a professional and clinical leader in Nursing Services and plays a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives. The Nurse Manager operationalises the core values of Nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. She/He is accountable for developing staff to deliver excellence in clinical practice and is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes.
The Nurse Manager facilitates effective patient access to clinical services managing both financial and human resources to meet these needs.
