You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailBuild Nova Scotia is recruiting an Office Logistics Summer Student who will focus on the coordination of a variety of office administration and logistics duties. Working closely with team members from across divisions the summer student will gain practical experience and knowledge of working in a government environment while gaining exposure to logistics and office coordination.
Reporting to the Senior Executive Administrative Coordinator the summer student will be responsible for the following accountabilities:
Coordinate all orders of physical supplies for the Old Red Store.
Responsible for accepting and receiving any mail sent to the office and all incoming and outgoing couriers. Liaison between both Build NS Halifax offices for mail distribution.
Support the department to ensure an upcoming office move is successful.
Support with logistics planning and overall organization of the office move.
Ensure reports communications and tracking spreadsheets are updated in an accurate and timely fashion.
Complete other duties and process improvement tasks as required.
Answer all incoming phone calls and direct to appropriate personnel. Ensure voicemail is checked daily.
Point of contact for Historic Properties building maintenance portal.
Boardroom booking management for the Old Red Store.
Additional administration duties as required.
Students enrolled in a related postsecondary program are encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail display strong organizational and analytical skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Familiarity with Microsoft Word Excel Adobe Acrobat Pro and database programs is required.
Knowledge of online meeting platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom is also an asset.
Working Conditions:
Normal work week is 35 hours/week 7 hours/day.
Work is conducted in a professional office environment.
Additional Information:
This opportunity will start as soon as possible with an end date of August 29 2025.
The hourly rate of pay varies depending on educational level.
