The Director of Accounting and Operations is a member of theLeadership Teamand serves as the advisor on business and financial matters to thepresident. The Director of Accounting and Operations is responsible for the development and recommendation of business and financial services to the board; for safeguarding the schools assets through the establishment and administration of budgetary and other internal controls; and for the performance of analytical analysis on specific operational issues and revisions to the administrative and business systems of the school. The Director of Accounting and Operations also acts in a fiduciary capacity as treasurer for operating cash flowthe schools endowment fund and serves as liaison to theBoard of Directorsand its committees on businessrelated operations. Additionally the Director of Accounting and Operations is responsible for the overall supervision of business office employeesand overseesthe human resourcesmaintenance facilities food servicetransportation and technologydepartments. The Director of Accounting and Operations reports directly to the president and is responsive to inquiries from other members of the administration.
In addition the Director of Accounting and Operations
I. Primary Functions:
Establishesaccounting policies and procedures.
Developsand implementsbudgetary and other financial controls.
Providesthe president and the board with cost projectionsand financial forecastsbudget preparationin collaboration with the Finance Committee.
Advises onlongrange planning of capital expenditures.
Coordinatesthe preparationand presentationof financial statements and reports for the president board and board committees.
Serves on variouscommittees of the School Board including the Finance CommitteeRisk Management CommitteeFacilities CommitteeandStrategicPlanningCommittee.
Workswith the Finance Committee in considering the overall endowment policy guidelines for the school.
Reviewsand manages all contractsand coordinates the contractsprocess with the Diocese of Dallas.
Serves as the liaison for the HR and Risk Management offices of the Diocese and coordinates with attorneys on contract issues.
Manages tuition billing and receivables.
Reviews and approves semimonthly payroll.
Supervises the annual audit.
Assists with administration of financial aid.
Manages andmonitorsbusinessoperationsincluding maintenance
facilitiestransportation technology food serviceand human resourcesincluding the management of any contracted service providers.
Provides budgetbuilding assistance and monthly budget updates to budget managers.
Provides monitoring of compliance issues inrisk managementhumanresources andfinancialarenas.
Performsother duties as assigned by the president.
Experience
Bachelors degree in finance accounting or business required
5years of experience in a financeaccountingor managementrelated capacity
5 years of managerial experience with progressive experience in operational/administrative management
3 years of QuickBooks experience
Handson management style able to effectively lead multiple departments
Excellent communications and interpersonalskills
Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
Detailoriented
Strategic thinker
