Job Description
Knowledge:
Advanced understanding of statistical and analytical techniques is required.
Must be able to construct mathematical models that effectively simplify user interaction and maintain the integrity of the underlying data and analytical structures and leverage previous investments in systems data structures and human resources.
Ability to assume full responsibility for accuracy reliability and timeliness of deliverables completed through own efforts or those of subordinate employees is required.
Must be able to effectively communicate technical and qualitative information to executives in all functional areas through interpersonal verbal and written channels.
Must have successful track record of managing projects and multitasking in a deadline intensive environment.
Must be able to recognize and interpret business issues/opportunities and recommend solutions through analysis.
Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is required as is a solid understanding of principles relating to the area of specialization.
Indepth knowledge of relevant software systems (e.g. MS Excel Access SAS SQL Cognos MS Word & PowerPoint etc.) is required.
Indepth knowledge of global Sales and Marketing organizations and pharmaceutical data sources (e.g. IMS NDC Verispan Scott Levin etc.) is required.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Provides thought leadership to the organization through the proper application of analytical techniques in one of the following areas:
Commercial Operations Integration
InMarket Forecasting
Sales Force Effectiveness
Sales Incentive Compensation
Supports the Director in developing business frameworks and related analytical processes based on the needs of the Companys senior management Commercial Marketing Commercial Operations Finance and Manufacturing functions.
Presents recommendations and findings to various stakeholders within the Commercial organization.
Applies strategic thinking and communicates highly complex analytical processes in a clear and concise manner.
Independently leads projects and coordinates input from crossfunctional teams of Commercial Marketing Analytics and external vendors.
Audits written SOPs and documentation of all newly established processes.
Establishes and maintains positive business relationships in key segments of the Commercial organization consistently demonstrating a thorough understanding of internal customers business needs their processes and immediate priorities.
Interacts with internal customers ranging from executives to Commercial management to field sales reps.
Directs the planning and implementation of new system enhancements or developments.
Makes recommendations to improvements and ensures system changes meet the business initiatives of Commercial Operations.
Represents the Commercial user viewpoint when collaborating with IT to develop process improvements.
Specific Job Responsibilities Business Analytics
Designs dashboard reports and oversees analytics for senior management reporting in assigned franchises.
Manages the implementation of sales force realignments for assigned franchises.
Specific Job Responsibilities Forecasting
Projects demand for Gileads and competitors products within a particular therapeutic area over the next two to three years.
Advises seniorlevel internal customers (e.g. Marketing Manufacturing Finance Product Management) on forecasting assumptions inputs and outputs.
Specific Job Responsibilities Incentive Compensation
Manages the design and administration of sales incentive plans to align corporate objectives commercial strategies and sales force efforts.
Accountable for the development and implementation of sales force reporting tools and ensures accurate and timely performance measurement on relevant parameters.
Defines productivity indicators for use in measuring performance and ensures the implementation of sales force action plans contribute to increased effectiveness.
