Job Description
Job Site: Technology and designated building sites
Hours/Days: Up to 40 hours per week for 8 weeks (MF)
Hourly Rate: $19.25
Benefits: Summer position no benefits
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Sub Summer Technology Intern to assist our Technology Department with handson technical support and infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field who are looking to gain realworld experience in a professional IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with running and organizing network cabling (Ethernet fiber etc.) in various buildings and workspaces.
- Support the installation and configuration of IT hardware and equipment including indoor and outdoor security camera installation IP speaker installation and configuration new dorm technology setup computers monitors and network devices.
- Help with inventory and labeling of technology equipment.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and connectivity issues under supervision.
- Support IT staff with equipment deployment and collection during technology refresh cycles.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment during installations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by IT staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interest in or pursuing education in IT Computer Science Networking or related field.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and networking concepts preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders or working in tight spaces.
- Reliable transportation to and from worksites.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communications. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
