Position Overview
Were seeking a Full Charge Construction Bookkeeper who thrives in a fastpaced environment and takes pride in keeping the financial engine of our projects running smoothly. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with experience in construction accounting and a proactive approach to solving problems and supporting field and office teams.
Youll work closely with our CEO CFO and project managers to ensure financial accuracy across all stages of constructionwhile also helping shape and support the continued growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable including invoice coding lien waiver collection and vendor payments.
- Reconcile bank statements credit cards and vendor accounts monthly.
- Maintain accurate job cost records and allocate expenses across multiple projects.
- Prepare and process weekly payroll for office and field employees occasionally including certified payroll for prevailing wage projects.
- Prepare monthly progress billings and pay applications (AIA forms) in collaboration with project managers.
- Track and maintain subcontractor insurance certificates and compliance documentation.
- Support financial reporting and audit preparation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records and filing systems.
- Be a trusted financial partner to internal teamsbringing clarity and insight to our construction operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- 12 years of bookkeeping experience with at least 3 years in construction
- Proficiency with Sage 100 for Contractors ProCore GCPay and Ramp or demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
- Working knowledge of job costing lien laws and AIA billing formats.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skillsespecially in a teamoriented clientfocused environment.

Work Environment
- This is an onsite role based in our Glen Allen office.
- Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).
- Requires regular use of a computer and communication tools.
