This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a comprehensive bookkeeping transformation project for a successful restaurant operation. Youll be the key person responsible for bringing their financial records up to professional standards while establishing ongoing systems for future success. Starting with a substantial catch-up project involving two years of historical data youll then transition into maintaining daily operations - making this both a challenging project role and a stable long-term position. The restaurant owners are committed to investing in quality and are looking for a dedicated professional who can work independently while maintaining excellent communication.
Responsibilities:
Transform two years of organized PDF receipts into comprehensive detailed financial records
Build complete inventory tracking systems by extracting and categorising data from historical documents
Create meticulously organized itemised records of all restaurant purchases and operational expenses
Establish and maintain ongoing daily bookkeeping processes for current restaurant operations
Prepare clean professional financial data ready for seamless QuickBooks integration
Participate in regular weekly strategy sessions with restaurant management for updates and guidance
Ensure all financial records meet high standards for accuracy readability and professional presentation
Requirements
Advanced Excel proficiency with experience managing large datasets and complex spreadsheets
Proven bookkeeping experience with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Restaurant or hospitality industry financial experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills for regular updates and collaborative problem-solving
Self-motivated professional who can work independently while maintaining consistent communication
Reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and maintaining work quality
Ability to handle substantial workload initially with transition to ongoing maintenance role
