Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree Masters Preferred
- MA DESE License
REPORTS TO:Building Principal
JOB GOAL: Responsible for instruction of English in a high school setting.
PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct students in English in a high school Alternative setting.
- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
- Plan prepare and deliver instructional activities.
- Create positive educational climate for students.
- Meet course and schoolwide student performance goals.
- Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
- Maintain electronic grade books.
- Utilize various curriculum resources for scaffolding and individual learning plans.
- Integrate competencies goals and objectives into lesson plans.
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Observe and evaluate students performance.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
- Maintain data and data cycles as per the MTSS academic plan
