YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

This is a senior level compensation role reporting to the Director of Compensation and Benefits. The ideal candidate for the Compensation Lead role requires a strong familiarity with compensation design and administration as well as significant experience with job evaluation / grading methodology. The candidate should possess an advanced skillset in the ability to anticipate business needs and recommend solutions that are consistent data driven and defendable but flexible and creative enough to meet the business needs. This requires an in depth understanding of multiple business areas / job families (IT Finance Operations Marketing Legal etc.) There will be an emphasis upon keeping pace with the market data identifying data / pay inconsistencies and working with HR Payroll and IT to make corrections and resolve issues on behalf of the business. The role requires significant patience persistence and attention to detail as well as the business savvy and creativity to propose solutions at the crossroads of art and science. The ideal candidate will have an eye for process improvement standardization and audit procedures. This position will work collaboratively within the People Department and partner regularly with business leaders utilizing polished customer service skills and frequent collaboration with the business. Communicating complex information clearly is another essential skill whether explaining compensation practices or strategizing with leaders and HR.

WHAT YOULL DO:

  • Research analyze evaluate validate and price jobs within the context of career ladders within each job family and subfamily

  • Partner with business leaders to assist in defining unique roles and in filling gaps that exist within the job families to meet business needs

  • Thoroughly assess job descriptions and provide thoughtful feedback to the business to ensure that job expectations specify the details to substantiate the career level and pay expectations of the business based upon grading guidelines at each step in the career path (entry level midlevel senior etc.)

  • Monitor interpret and propose revisions based upon compensation survey data and/or revisions to procedures/pay practices to ensure compliance based on federal state and local legislative requirements

  • As a subject matter expert you will collaborate with the Director of Compensation and Benefits and in providing guidance to internal peers business leaders and HR.

  • Audit reconcile and correct compensation data records across multiple systems

  • Participate in management and strategy decisions about pay plan and bonus plan design

  • Evaluate existing compensation programs and propose changes and/or costsaving modifications

  • Create communication materials including presentations and information packages to educate our leadership and employees about career paths pay structure pay progression and other compensation practices and procedures

  • Provide mentorship and guidance peers within HR (Compensation Talent Acquisition Operations etc.)

WHAT YOULL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with professionalism discretion and good judgment

  • Polished communication skills to challenge the status quo with consistency kindness and professionalism

  • Strong familiarity with compensation regulations

  • In depth understanding of the legal complexities of compensation administration with an appetite for learning

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specifically advanced skills in Excel and/or similar spreadsheet software tools

  • Superior verbal oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally deescalate challenging situations balancing empathy and compassion with fairness and tenacity

  • Experience working with compensation consultants and data survey standards of WTW Mercer Radford etc.

  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing appropriately to meet deadlines and support the business

  • Able to work quickly accurately and independently

  • Ability to translate and analyze data into report

  • Strong organizational skills

  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) Certification is highly preferred

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or a related field

  • In depth familiarity with multiple business areas and multiple job functions

  • Advanced understanding of job evaluation and grading methodologies

  • 7 years of experience in compensation design and administration

  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts practices and procedures specific to benefits administration

  • Experience in a human resources generalist role (in addition to the benefits administration experience) will be a plus

  • Up to %

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment sitting for long periods standing walking typing carrying pushing bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

$143600.00$188500.00 Annual

The pay range for this role is what we expect to pay for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this job description. Candidates pay can vary based on location jobrelated experience skills and education.
