Job Description

Upon completion of our Foundations training program and successfully obtaining your insurance licenses and AHIP Certification you will build community relationships drive selfgenerated sales and meet sales goals and metrics while working independently. You will be interacting with Humanas customers external business partners and the communityweservethrough facetoface virtual and telephonic to face will encompass grass roots marketing and field sales community events as well as visiting prospects in their homes. Our Medicare Sales Field Agents sell individual health plan products and educate beneficiaries on our services in a field setting. Some of our additional products include Life Annuity Indemnity Dental Vision Prescription and more.

We will pay for your insurancetrainingprogram and licensing fees along with the cost of obtaining your AHIP certification. In addition we will alsoprovideextensive virtual and in market training.During our training program you will receive a base salary and monthly guarantee.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to have face to face interactions with prospective members either in their homes or in the field is required for this position.
  • Strong organizational interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • High level of selfmotivation
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Greatwithlaptopcomputers cell phones and the ability to navigate mobile apps. This also includesknowledge of MicrosoftWord Excel Outlook and Power Point
  • This role is part of Humanas Driver safety program and requires an individual to have a valid state drivers license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100/300/100 limits. This role also requires running a Motor Vehicle Report as part of the background check process
  • Although this is a field position there will be times when you will be working from home so you must have the ability to provide highspeed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Also associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • Internet requirements include a minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload).
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • Working conditions will require a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
  • Must reside withintheassigned territory or have plans to relocate at your own expense

Preferred Qualifications

  • BachelorsDegree
  • Previous internship and/or workexperiencein the insurance industry
  • Strong interest in the Healthcare industry with a passion for helping others
  • Engaged withyourcommunitythroughservice organizations activities and volunteerism
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak read and write inbothEnglish and an additional language withoutlimitationsor assistance

Additional information:

  • Your continued employment with Humana is contingent upon your passing of your Health insurance license exam while attending our Foundations training program
  • You must also be able to complete and pass theAHIP certification (allpaid for byHumana)to sell our products.
  • Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment provided by an outside vendor to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.

Schedule: Meeting with members requires appointments and/or event times that may vary on nights and weekends. Flexibility is essential to your success.

Training: will be approximately the first 89 weeks of employment and attendance is mandatory.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills knowledge experience education certifications etc.


$31800 $43800 per year


This job is eligible for a commission incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
