Job Description
Job Summary
The Dock Lead is responsible for supervising dock workers and route drivers at the dock location.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Responsible for supervision of route drivers; able to run routes out of dock or plant; notifies drivers of special instructions.
- Checks customer route tickets each week ensuring proper service to customers; able to service customer complaints until Customer Service Representative can make contact.
- Responsible for cleanliness and proper operation of dock and equipment; keeps grounds clean and clear of damaged containers.
- Operates assigned company vehicle and maintains cleanliness; reports any mechanical or operational problems to vehicle supervisor immediately; may be required to maintain DOT log book.
- Maintains quality customer service by being professional and courteous at all times.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a least 21 years old with two or more years of driving experience.
- Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required; clean MVR.
- Good working knowledge of general vehicle maintenance.
- Demonstrated proficiency working on computers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory and route driver experience preferred.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Team player; works well with others.
- Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multitask.
- Good math skills; ability to add subtract multiply and divide whole numbers.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk stand sit climb balance stoop kneel crawl and crouch.
- Frequently required to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Occasionally required to push pull move or lift up to 100 lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a company vehicle plant/dock location and on outside property.
