The Student Office Assistant will provide overall clerical support to the office help with the completion of office projects help with departmentsponsored events and support the Administrative Assistant and Administrative Analyst.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Monitor department email
Collaborate on & manage CAS Deans Office Social Media pages (Facebook & Instagram)
Electronically collect syllabi from CAS faculty & contract teachers each quarter and share with the Provosts Office
Copy scan file and deliver documents
Scan and enter data into databases
Answer telephone and take messages
Assist the Academic Advisor: lift academic holds and correspond with students academic departments and Records regarding academic variance petitions exam variance petitions and overload petitions
Assist with preparation for meetings events and annual projects
Keep department information current: website folders databases bulletin boards etc.
Maintain office inventory and supply closet
Fill copy machines with paper and assist with jams
Various other duties assigned by CAS staff
Required Skills:
Reliable accurate and flexible
Able to maintain the confidentiality of departmental/employee/student information
Able to think creatively
Strong clerical skills (filing and typing)
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word Banner Excel TYPO3)
Detail oriented with strong organization skills
Work well both independently and as a team player
Able to interact with and convey a positive attitude to visitors and the campus community in person or by phone
Able to communicate in a concise and effective manner both verbally and in writing
Able to work an established work schedule
Editing and design skills a plus
Physical / Mental Demands
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
Usual office environment
High level of Confidentiality REQUIRED
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on computer.
Mental alertness and consideration while handling of confidential information of students.
Physical labor is minimal
Required Experience
Previous office experience is preferred.
Previous experience or knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must be currently enrolled at La Sierra University.
Work Spring Schedule: 510 hours/week; Summer/Fall Schedule: 2025 hours/week
