INTERPOL is the worlds largest international police organization with 196 Member Countries. Created in 1923 it facilitates crossborder police cooperation and supports and assists all organizations authorities and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime.

The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with:
A better understanding of the Organizations goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized
An insight into how an international organization operates
A framework to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments thereby developing skills which are useful for their career and future employment
Experience of working in a multicultural multidisciplinary and multiethnic environment contributing to the development of mutual understanding trust and tolerance

As of 1 January 2025 the internship allowance is EUR 700 and a transport subsidy of EUR 30 per month. An additional housing subsidy of EUR 170 per month will be provided to eligible interns.
Interns are required to be subscribed to a health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the internship. However they are eligible to request enrolment in the Organizations health insurance coverage at no additional cost.
Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the conditions of internship and the requirements prior to applying for this internship.
Primary duties
TheFinance & Corporate Services supports the Organizations activities by providing the infrastructure and the services needed to allow it to operate as effectively as possible. Through this internship the selected applicant will gain practical work experience in accounting and financial control processes.
Throughout this internship the selected applicant will provide support to the Financial Control team and its activities as follows:
- Collect all relevant information on new standards that have been issued highlighting the expected implementation date(s);
- Updated list of exposure draft that needs to be monitored to ensure awareness and preparedness for future standards;
- Assist in scoping for the management software solution for possible implementation of the new standard(s) should that be required;
- Assist in the training needs assessment for people involved in the implementation of new IPSAS standards (change management);
- Assist in updating of the implementation status of external audit recommendations;
- Assist with documentation of processes procedures and internal controls;
- Assistance with processes improvements.
Requirements
All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements
Requirements
- Be a national of one of INTERPOLs 196 member countries.
- Have attained the legal age in the country of nationality.
Training / Education required
- Be enrolled in or have graduated with a Bachelors degree in accounting/finance within the past one year on the date of submission of their application.
- Be enrolled in or have graduated in a Masters programme will beconsidered an additional asset.
Languages
- Professional fluency in English is required.
- Professional fluency in French is required.
- A good command of any other INTERPOL official language (Arabic or Spanish) would be an asset.
Technical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and SAP is desirable.
- Previous experience in flowcharting and audit preparations would be an asset.
