Position Summary:
This position will provide positive collaborative leadership with the building principal and other staff for the continuous improvement of student of Students shall be responsible for: Student disciplineA portion of School Leadership andAssist and Support the Principal.
TheDean of Studentsmust possess an understanding of the education process and be able to articulate and establish the conditions that affect learning.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
- Monitor student activities for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
- Assist the Master Scheduling Team
- Take the leadfor 504s
- Assist the Guided Pathways to Success (GPS Aberdeens Student Support Team) process with MTSS Coach
- Assist in the planning developing and implementing of individual student behavior plans
- Report incidents (child abuse fights substance abuse etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students providing a positive learning environment and adhering to education code and district and school policies
- Provide an exceptional educational experience to all students; communicate an enthusiasm for learning
- Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teachers expectations developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
- Assess and monitor students for the purpose of providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and goals by using quality classroombased assessments
- Collaborate with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning curriculum and willingness to work with grade level team
- Direct instructional assistants volunteers and/or student aides for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students and be supportive of parent volunteers in the classroom Utilize district adopted curriculum to guide instruction
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly productive environment for learning
- Communicate regularly and positively with parents
- Analyze and distribute SWIS data to monitor and track behavior data
- Assist in coordination and supervision of regular school day and other student activities
- Assist in opening/closing of school year
- Assist in staff development
- Assist in student discipline andinput data into SWIS system
- Assist in management of materials and equipment
- Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hours
- Professionally interact with students staff and public
- Establish and maintain professional contacts with students
- Comply with all district policies and procedures
- Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Secondary teaching certificate.
- Interest in Educational Administration or related field preferred.
- Effective human relations and communications skills with students parents staff and community.
- Minimum five years successful teaching/counseling experience preferred.
- Knowledge and skills in application of current research in curriculum instruction and technology.
- Knowledge of student assessment.
- Successful experience with student management/discipline.
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.

- Possess strong interpersonal consultation and facilitation skills
