Lead Practitioner of Science Barking & Dagenham September Start

About the Lead Practitioner of Science role:

  • Lead and deliver engaging Science lessons across all key stages

  • Work within a strong 8person Science department

  • Play a key mentoring role for Trainees and ECTs sharing best practice

  • Set an outstanding example in classroom teaching and behaviour management

  • Drive progress and attainment in Science ensuring curriculum is effectively followed

  • Take an active role in wholeschool CPD and strategic planning

  • Communicate confidently with parents and carers to support student progress

  • Contribute creatively to curriculum development and innovative teaching approaches

What were looking for in a Lead Practitioner of Science:

  • 1:1 Sciencerelated degree from a top 20 UK university

  • QTS with a minimum of 3 years experience teaching Science

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor new teachers

  • Excellent classroom management and SEND support experience

  • A proactive flexible and creative educator

  • Great teamwork and communication abilities

  • Passion for raising attainment and a drive to progress to senior leadership
