Intern Marketing and Communications
Reports to Job Role: Director of Marketing and Communications
FLSA: Unpaid Intern
Role: Intern
Descriptive Summary
We are seeking a proactive and creative Marketing Communications Intern who is eager to gain handson experience in marketing social media graphic design and content creation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about marketing and wants to learn the essentials of branding and communications in a nonprofit environment.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist with content creation and social media management efforts
- Assist with designing graphics for email campaigns/templates social media and presentations using Canva and PowerPoint
- Explore the company website and collateral and provide recommendations for content strategy and creation
- Conduct online research to find articles data and trends to support content creation
- Assist with departmental administrative tasks as needed
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Social Work Psychology Marketing Communications Graphic Design or a related field. Related experience would be considered.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiarity with social media platforms and trends (Facebook and Instagram Reels Stories Highlights)
- Strong writing editing and communication skills
- Proactive organized and detail oriented
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative
- Passion for Cornerstones mission and a commitment to communityfocused work

Work Environment
This position is performed in a traditional office environment as well as in Cornerstones communitybased programs.
May be required to drive to offsite events in your personal vehicle.
This position has lifting and physical requirements which include boxes and materials up to 30 pounds and moving items related to drives donations and fundraising events.
