Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Youth Support Worker on a 3month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 19.22 25.14 per hour

Hours Per Week :18.00

Summary:

The Youth Support Worker will deliver and develop engaging youth work sessions within the Young Tower Hamlets Safe Spaces initiative. This boroughwide program provides inclusive accessible spaces for young people aged 1119 (or up to 25 for those with SEND) in every ward. The role supports Tower Hamlets strategic aims to reduce violence vulnerability and exploitation by offering young people safe supportive environments positive activities and access to skilled youth workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain voluntary positive relationships with young people attending safe spaces.
  • Deliver individual and groupbased youth work that promotes personal social and educational development.
  • Support young people in understanding risk and promoting safe informed decisionmaking.
  • Signpost and refer young people to appropriate universal targeted and specialist services.
  • Participate in planning delivering and evaluating safe space activities including offsite and residential experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Level 2 Youth Work qualification or willingness to obtain during probation.

Experience:

  • Experience engaging with young people individually and in groups.
  • Experience maintaining respectful professional boundaries and responding to challenging behaviours.
  • Experience planning and delivering activities that promote young peoples development.
  • Experience of working with partners and referring young people to relevant services.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
