Job Description

The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) Coordinator assists in designing coordinating and implementing EAOP services at their assigned school site. They work with students parents school personnel and community stakeholders to promote academic success and achievement in schools with limited collegegoing histories. The EAOP Program Coordinator plans develops and implements academic preparation services for 9th12th grade students. As a seasoned experienced professional in K14 academic preparation the EAOP Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning implementation and daytoday operations of EAOP services at their assigned school sites. Additionally the EAOP Program Coordinator develops and maintains program visibility in schools and develops collaborative relationships with K14 and higher education institutions community entities and other collegegoing programs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Comprehensive College Advising & Student Support: Guide K14 students through college admissions financial aid and academic planning. Lead cohort recruitment deliver collegegoing workshops and collaborate with families to support informed decisionmaking.
  • Summer Enrichment Leadership & Program Oversight: Plan and execute summer academic programs that expose students to college life and career pathways. Recruit participants and supervise summer staff.
  • Data Management & Program Impact Assessment: Maintain accurate student records track engagement and analyze school data to inform program improvements.
  • Strategic Partnerships & School Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with school leaders counselors teachers and collegeaccess organizations. Participate in committees and strategic planning to foster a collegegoing culture.
  • Continuous Learning & Professional Development: Stay updated on trends in college access and academic preparation particularly for firstgeneration and lowincome students. Leverage professional development to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Additional Contributions & Special Projects: Support other initiatives and responsibilities as needed to advance program goals.
This position requires 100% onsite at two high schools in San Francisco and San Mateo counties with occasional work at UCSFs Mission Center. Applicants must be available to work some evenings and weekends.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $68400 $102500 (Annual Rate).

  • 3 years of professional experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers
  • Strong knowledge of uptodate information on K12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies
  • Knowledge of K12 and higher education institutions (UC CSU CC etc.) admissions and financial aid requirements and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth parents and school representatives
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators school counselors principals teachers and community contacts
  • Strong knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements
  • Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race ethnicity and socioeconomic status
  • Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Significant experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers
  • Demonstrate organizational and program coordination skills including the ability to set priorities and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Must be available for occasional work outside of normal business hours including some evenings and weekends


    • Masters degree in related area and/ or equivalent experience/ training or combination of education and/or experience working with high school students
    • Strong working proficiency in MS Word Excel and Qualtrics
    • Knowledge of youth and adolescent development theory including issues facing lowincome firstgeneration urban youth

    The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) is housed in UCSFs Center for Science Education and Outreach (CSEO) which is a department within the Office of Diversity and Outreach. Since 1999 CSEO has provided programs and services to K20 communities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area that lead to student academic success increased collegegoing rates and exploration of careers in health and STEM.
