The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical developmental intellectual mental health challenges; those who have suffered a trauma; and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for a Direct Support Professional Community Day Serviceswho demonstrates this mission and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference in the community.

Schedule Hours:Exempt Monday Friday with weekend oncall rotation

What you will be doing

The Director is responsible for the clinical case management of CILA Community Day Services and TAC House. The Director oversees the accreditation state surveys and inspections processes as the division liaison. The Director must collaborate in a team approach with program staff and support personnel to ensure smooth operations and continuous services. The Director is also responsible for Quality Utilization review of services and records and will oversee outcome evaluation for the divisions. Ensures that all aspects of community living comply and community day services with all applicable Federal State and Accreditation standards. Responsible for overseeing the development and implementing individual programs to maximize the clients independent community living skills and inclusion in their community. Assures in accordance with DHS CARF or DPH standards as applicable. Advocate for and maintain rights and privacy of clients that are served. Accountable for providing to both clients and staff members a positive professional and safe environment to live learn and work. This position hires trains

Monitors and assigns QIDPs in CILA Community Day Service and TAC house. This position is responsible for carrying a small caseload between 35 clients. The Director Supervises Clinical Managers providing training guidance and feedback to ensure quality service development and implementation. Provide staff training for client strategies and/or programs and assist with new hire training as assigned. Perform client case record reviews and advise QIDP on improvements as needed. Prepare a monthly accountability report as assigned. Directors are assigned to internal and external committees representing the organization as required. . The Director will manage staff development clinical client services financial management compliance requirements physical plant including assuring safety at all locations and being responsible for all reports and records required for each program and service area as assigned. The Director is responsible to meet the needs of all stakeholders including but not limited to clients parents/guardians staff funders and other interest groups .This job position may have some work components that can be performed remotely. Remote work arrangements are not a right or entitlement of employment. They are discretionary and subject to demonstrated performance and operational needs. Approval may be rescinded at any time at the sole discretion of management.

What will you bring to the table

Education: Bachelors Degree in Human Services Masters preferred

Experience:

At least two years of experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Three to five years of experience as QIDP or QMHP preferred.

4 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Other requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb stairs daily

  • No medical restrictions which would prohibit implementation of a lift/transfer or implementation of behavioral programs.

  • Push pull reach stoop/bend over and use step stool daily.

  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks and assist clients in independent living skills.

  • Physically assist clients in situations including but not limited to: getting in and out of van bathtub shower or bed regularly

  • Implement behavior support strategies and respond to emergency behavioral issues.

  • Requires significant walking and standing on a daily basis.

Equipment:

  • Computer and software including Microsoft Word Outlook Excel and Teams; Zoom platform and application; Internet browser and Microsoft SharePoint platform.

  • Household appliances including stove microwave washer/dryer dishwasher and countertop appliances such as microwaves.

  • Alarm Systems for monitoring fire weather security etc.

  • Telephone and voicemail.

  • Office Equipment including printer/scanner copy machine calculator shredder etc.

  • Adaptive equipment as defined in individual strategies including hoyer lift and accessories shower chairs or benches walkers wheelchairs etc.

  • Agency vehicles with and without wheelchair lifts.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds to assist in twoperson lift or with use of adaptive equipment.

  • Pass STOFHLA literacy test.

  • Must complete required DSP and Medication Administration Training including CPR First Aid Infection Control OIG Rule 50 and CPI.

  • Must maintain medication administration authorization by following all policies and procedures.

  • Individual must have and maintain a valid Illinois drivers license.

  • The use of a personal automobile and the minimum amount of automobile liability insurance as defined in the Associations personnel policy is required.

  • Must transport clients in personal automobile when necessary.

  • Must have access to a personal cell phone with ability to utilize downloaded applications for secure messaging.

  • Complete agency required QIDP training within six months of hire.

  • Respond to client medical/behavioral as well as facility concerns during evening weekend overnight and holiday hours.

  • Evenings weekends and holiday hours required per client and program needs.

  • Maintain 12 CEUs yearly.

  • Attend inservice trainings as required.

  • Attendance at afterhours programmatic functions required.
