Job Description
The Switchboard Operator operates the telephone switchboard and routes calls to appropriate personnel per protocol.
- Announces necessary codes with accuracy and implements emergency response teams utilizing electronic methods.
- Promptly reports all alarm variances to the security or facilities department as is appropriate
Exercises sound judgment in the processing and issuance of code requests to include assessing severity type authenticity etc. Seeks supervisory input as is appropriate. Announces all codes in a timely clear and calm manner. Obtains all necessary information from callers requesting a code; including location age group etc (i.e. code blue). Accurately utilizes electronic methods to call Rapid Response Team alerts.

The Fauquier Health system offers patient care for a variety of specialty services including Orthopedics and Spine a Cardiac Catheterization Lab and roboticassisted surgery. The fourth floor of the hospital is devoted to our Family Birthing Center and Intermediate Care Nursery.

Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent X Preferred Required
Minimum Work Experience
Required 2 years experience in customer service positions.
Preferred Experience utilizing multiline switchboard particularly in a healthcare environment.
Required Skills
Customer service skills. Extreme attention to detail. Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to use computers (email spreadsheets presentations etc.).
