Quality Staffing Inc. a leading full-service employment agency is seeking a skilled Back Winder to join the carpet manufacturing team at a respected local company. This role is essential to the production process ensuring that yarn is properly wound and prepared for tufting and weaving. Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Pay: Based on Experience Location: Dalton GA
Position Overview
As a Back Winder you will operate and maintain winding machinery preparing yarn for the next stages of production. This position is key to maintaining quality efficiency and safety in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creeling Yarn: Set up yarn spools to feed into winding machines.
- Splicing: Join yarn ends to maintain continuous production.
- Loading Tubes: Prepare and replace empty winding tubes.
- Operating the Auto Winder: Oversee automated winding operations.
- Doffing: Remove finished yarn tubes from machines.
- Labeling: Accurately tag completed yarn tubes.
- Inspection: Check yarn quality before restarting operations.
- Workplace Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience is Required - preferably with textile or winding machinery.
- Strong attention to detail for quality control and labeling.
- Physical ability to handle repetitive tasks and lift yarn spools.
- Safety-conscious attitude and adherence to company procedures.
