Job Summary:
Alcons Digital Health Business Unit is seeking aClinical Testing Leadto drive the development and validation of clinical workflows for ophthalmic surgical planning and operations. This role will be instrumental in defining system requirements and overseeing testing to ensure seamless integration into surgical environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in clinical workflows related to cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries ensuring that our digital solutions align with realworld clinical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and optimization of clinical workflows for ophthalmic surgical planning and operations.
- Define and document system requirements based on clinical needs regulatory requirements and user feedback.
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams including Product Management Testing Marketing and Engineering to ensure alignment between product design and clinical usability.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance usability and compliance with clinical standards.
- Collaborate with surgeons ophthalmologists and clinical staff to gather insights and refine surgical workflow integration.
- Conduct handson testing in simulated and realworld environments to ensure accuracy reliability and efficiency of digital health solutions.
- Provide clinical expertise in regulatory submissions risk assessments and usability studies.
- Stay up to date with industry trends regulatory changes and emerging technologies in digital ophthalmology solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering Biology Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in clinical workflows related to cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures.
- Strong knowledge of surgical planning intraoperative workflows and postoperative care in ophthalmology.
- Handson experience with system testing validation and regulatory compliance in a clinical setting.
- Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a detailoriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Optometrist ophthalmic technician or other medical professional with handson surgical experience.
- Experience in medical device software development and regulatory compliance (e.g. FDA ISO 13485).
- Familiarity with digital health solutions electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical decision support tools.
