Summary: The Student Activities Director oversees and coordinates all student extracurricular programs at the secondary level including clubs student government school events and assemblies. This role also supervises performing and fine arts programs cheer and poms. The director promotes student engagement leadership and school spirit by supporting advisors and coaches managing activity budgets and schedules ensuring compliance with district and school policies and fostering a positive inclusive school climate through diverse and meaningful student opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the maintenance organization and administration of of the overall program of interscholastic activities and athletics programs
- Supervises Curricular and Cocurricular activities and clubs that broaden the overall academic experience for students at the High School.
- Provides administrative support for the Lindbergh High School Administrative team in regard to supporting Student Activities.
- Collaborates and works closely with the Music Coordinator Auditorium Manager Communications Department and Community Education Facility Usage Coordinator.
- Supervise all clubs and activities at Lindbergh High School:
- Organize school building tours
- Oversees and works with Student Council on Events and Assemblies
- Works with the Student Ambassadors program setting up tours and 8th grade visitors.
- Student Council point of contact who is responsible for organizing and working with class officer elections
- Responsible for class officer quarterly meetings
- Collaborates with the Green Machine Sponsor
- School Mascot Coordinator works with kids and programs to work various events.
- Collaborates with the Auditorium Manager and Community Education Coordinator on scheduling conflicts events and usage.
- Administrative contact for Fine Arts and Practical Arts Departments as it relates to MSHSAA competitions.
- Oversees Club applications meeting schedules and student participation data.
- Student Life School Mascot tryouts organization and coordination of activities & initiatives
- Collaboration with the Athletic Department through:
- Evening and weekend event preparation and supervision as related to supporting Student Activities and Clubs.
- 23 nights a week and/or a weekend split on Saturday. Spring Break Assistance for coverage as needed.
- Summer Evening Facility assistance & Summer camps postings as related to Activities and Clubs.
- Coordinate Technology and Social Media for all Student Activities and Clubs.
- Serve as a member of the Lindbergh High School Administrative Team
- Provide additional supervision during the school day as needed
- Facility usage scheduling utilizing the Master Library system according to procedures and guidelines approved by the Board of Education. Schedules all events for Performing & Fine Arts Clubs/Activities Cheerleading and Poms.
- Ensures activities do not conflict with scheduled events/activities and are approved through proper routes.
- Works in coordination with Community Education and the AD & AD Building Assistant on outside rental approvals at LHS Facilities..
- Technology District Website Social Media Accounts Season Passes (Fall & Winter Activities) Oversee Team Accounts/Club Accounts Digital Signage & Announcements (PR Marketing) Troubleshooting (Audio/Tech.)
- Works with Music/Neptune on sponsorships. Coordinates with coaches to set up pregame and ingame music lists.
- Maintain and update school touch screens with school historical data (academics activities tradition)
- Oversees 70 club supervision @ LHS Creating calendar for club meetings/power lunch scheduling tracking participation data
- Supervision and evaluation of MSHSAA club and activities.
- Responsible for communication and advertising/marketing of Fine and Practical Arts performances.
- Senior Banners Team Pictures coordination of media for activities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages club and intramural sponsors.
- Supervises and manages all student clubs activities performing & fine arts cheer and poms.
- Is responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of this unit.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
- Administrative Certification and experience preferred
- Bachelors Degree required
- Master Degree preferred
- A minimum of 3 years successful administrative and/or teaching experience
