Math Coordinator-Lindbergh Schools
Summary: The K-12 Math Coordinator is responsible for the vision development and implementation of a high-quality mathematics program across all grade levels (with a primary focus on Kindergarten through Algebra). This role will drive excellence in math instruction curriculum and assessment ensuring all students achieve mathematical proficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the overall vision and strategic directionfor K-12 mathematics programs including the formulation of philosophy and objectives.
Ensures continuous improvement of math instructionthroughout the district by fostering a high-quality aligned and effective mathematics program.
Coordinates and leads comprehensive math professional learning including designing and facilitating professional learning sessions modeling best instructional practices and providing in-classroom coaching and mentorship to K-12 math teachers.
Oversees the continuous development review and revision of a comprehensive K-12 mathematics curriculum and assessment systemthat aligns with state standards and best practices ensuring horizontal and vertical alignment across all grade levels.
Facilitates the selection and implementation of high-quality instructional materials and resources.
Promotes innovative and research-based instructional approachesin mathematics including differentiated instruction and technology integration.
Leads the development and implementation of clear K-12 math proficiency scalesto define learning targets monitor student progress and guide the ongoing development and refinement of the K-12 mathematics scope and sequence.
Integrates and oversees various assessment strategies(formative summative diagnostic) into the math program to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
Collaborates with teachers to analyze assessment datato identify areas for intervention enrichment and program improvement.
Collects analyzes and interprets various data sources(e.g. assessment results student performance data teacher feedback) to evaluate program effectiveness inform decision-making and drive continuous enhancement.
Prepares and presents reportson math program effectiveness to stakeholders.
Fosters a professional learning communityamong math educators and stays current with national and international trends in mathematics education.
Collaborates effectively with school administrators department heads teachers and parentsto ensure a cohesive and supportive math learning environment.
Communicates program goals initiatives and outcomesto various stakeholders acting as a resource and advocate for mathematics education.
Participates in state and national organizationsand committees supporting math curriculum and instruction and stays informed about relevant educational policies and regulations.
Conducts classroom observationsand provides constructive feedback to enhance teaching practices.
