Job Description
James L. Collins Catholic School is seeking an outstanding candidate to serve as a 5th grade teacher to promote our mission of a Christ centered environment. This fulltime position requires coteaching with our 4th grade teacher. The teacher will teach mathematics and science to both 4th and 5th grades. JLCCS delivers a character based and virtue centered education in an academically rigorous environment. We are looking for a teacher with previous elementary experience and has a valid teaching certificate. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the Dallas Diocesan Curriculum and show written evidence of preparation as required and provide lessons that reflect accommodations for differences with student learning styles.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents students principals and teachers. All teachers need to maintain a professional relationship with colleagues students parents and community members.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve jobrelated skills and any professional development as instructed by administration.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required and assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
