Young Adult Pastor

Reach and equip young adults with the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the valley.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION (SKILLS EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION)

• Demonstrated ability (minimum 3 years) leading a young adult ministry or program that effectively helps young adults grow in their relationship with Jesus.
• Demonstrated ability to develop cast and implement a vision that moves a church or organization in a positive direction.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Biblical truth in an accurate relevant way to a young adult audience.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and lead strategically is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to select build and lead successful productive teams.
• Highly relationalability to interact with a variety of people in a variety of circumstances
• Desire to continue to grow spiritually and in work proficiency required.
• Selfmotivation and commitment to excellence is required.
• Ability to effectively manage conflict or other tense/sensitive situations.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• A committed Christian living a life of obedience; beliefs consistent with NPHX Church statement of faith.
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
• Familiarity with computer and general technology is required.
• Bachelor Degree required. Postgraduate degree preferred.
• Must be/become a member of NPHX Church

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Evaluation criteria based on these responsibilities listed on review forms)

Pastoral Leadership of Young Adult Ministry: 60%

• Lead and oversee NPHX Churchs young adult ministry strategy and tactics to reach and equip young adults.
• Spend time with young adults to understand their lives hurts challenges and opportunities.
• Teach Biblical truth in an accurate relevant way to a young adult audience.
• Study and prepare for upcoming teachings.
• Design program and execute a monthly engaging worship gathering for young adults throughout the year.
• Lead the team to effectively provide Connect Groups and a Connect Group structure within the young adult ministry.
• Create fun and engaging hang out type of events to happen throughout the year.

Team Building: 25%

• Recruit/mentor/empower/equip a team of volunteers to serve on Sunday mornings throughout different ministries (such as hospitality kids students etc.)
• Recruit/mentor/empower/equip a team of young adults to lead connect groups of their peers.
• Onboard new members consistent with vision values and character of NPHX Church.
• Equip volunteers with needed information tools skills and environments to effectively lead.

Department Leadership: 10%

• Develop an annual calendar of events for responsible areas of ministry.
• Prepare an annual budget that reflects the goals objectives and programs of the ministry.
• Set attain and report on growth and ministry goals.
• Ensure proper policies and procedures are in place and followed for a safe and secure ministry environment.
• Collaborate with other ministry departments.
• Research current events culture and community issues that relate to and/or affect ministries under your supervision.
• Participate in general expectations of ministry staff such as staff meetings team assignments etc.
• Train and supervise interns and residents as assigned.

NPHX Church at large Pastoral/Ministerial Functions: 5%

• Participate and lead in communion and baptism services in addition to performing weddings and presiding over funerals when requested.
• Provide crisis care (in conjunction with others on the pastoral/care teams) as assigned to those who are experiencing spiritual emotional or physical crisis.
• Teach facilitate or train at events as requested.
• Encourages spiritual focus and commitment by modeling the core values of NPHX Church.
• Manages and directs others under care.
• Should be involved in the indepth mentoring of others with the express goal of multiplying ministry.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor not to exceed 5%
