Description

Salary:circa 27000 per annum

Location:Glasgow Lanarkshire

Contract/Hours: Permanent / Full Time - 37 hours per week

Closing date for applications is midnight on 10th August and interviews are provisionally scheduled for 20th August

A bit about the role

Action for Childrens Fostering Scotland Service is a dedicated and specialist fostering provider committed to delivering attachment-based therapeutic care to children and young people who are unable to live safely at home. We provide nurturing environments that support emotional healing resilience and long-term stability for every young person we care for.

We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of care. Our foster carers receive exceptional training ongoing supervision and comprehensive support to help them meet the complex and individual needs of each young person. This commitment is reflected in our latest Fostering Inspection where we received outstanding feedback for the quality professionalism and impact of our work.

Listening to children and young people is central to everything we do. Their voices guide our decision-making and shape the support we provide. We work collaboratively and compassionately creating space for their experiences views and aspirations to be heardevery step of the way.

Were looking for a passionate and skilled Young Persons Practitioner to join our Fostering Scotland team in this rewarding role youll work alongside dedicated colleagues and carers to support young people through therapeutic relationships and creative approaches helping them build brighter futures.

How youll help to create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities of a Young Persons Practitioner role are;

  • Contributing your knowledge personal values and positive energy to a multi-disciplinary teammade up of social workers fostering support workers and therapistsworking to help fostering families offer stable nurturing homes to young people.
  • Playing an active role in delivering the participation strategy developed by the Fostering Scotland Team.
  • Collaborating with others to protect and uplift young people helping them create meaningful memories and maintain vital connections with their familiesall while feeling fulfilled by the impact you make.
  • Upholding the highest standards of care and emotional wellbeing for young people forming strong bonds with them and offering committed tailored support throughout their journey.
  • Applying a therapeutic and imaginative approach to make a meaningful and lasting difference in young peoples lives.

Lets talk about you

  • SVQ3 or above and willing to undertake further training.
  • Previous experience of working with children who have experienced significant trauma.
  • Experience in life story work (desirable)
  • The ability to use a variety of tools and approaches to support young people to express their views
  • Experience in group work with young people including confidence building and sexual health.
  • Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job with reasonable adjustments if required according to the Equality Act.
