ABOUT THIS ROLE:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Quality Associate to join our team. The Quality Associate will be responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured meet our high standards of quality and reliability for internal and customer issues identified. The successful candidate will be able to identify defects and nonconformities in products as well as identify opportunities for process improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect all products manufactured by Carrier Charlotte Factory to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Identify defects and nonconformities in products and document them in the quality management system.
Verify that all product labeling packaging and documentation are accurate and complete.
Monitor production processes to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions.
Provide feedback to the production team on quality issues and collaborate with them to resolve quality problems.
Work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure that all products meet customer expectations.
Maintain accurate and complete records of inspection activities and results.
Support 8D activities as needed including leading and supporting containment.
Measure components as required (e.g. lead length bend radius etc.).
Support implementation of quality management systems (ISO9001).
Perform other activities as required by the Quality Manager Production Supervisors or Trainer.
Take pictures of all units being audited and upload them for traceability.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
2 years of experience in manufacturing quality control or inspection.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for the majority of the workday with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or experience in a technical field preferred.
Working knowledge of basic Microsoft Software and/or Oracle and SAP experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and nonconformities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 preferred.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment such as automated assembly lines preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
