JOB SUMMARYSizer School a North Central Charter Essential School is seeking a dedicated studentcenterededucator to teach Chemistry courses as well as science electives. This candidate will bring a passionfor implementing best instructional practices and a commitment to further promote an alreadyexisting positive collaborative teaching and learning environment. Only those candidates with a deepbelief in the Sizer School mission and ready to teach in and be a part of an exemplary innovativepublic middle/high school need RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not limited to) Teaches high school Chemistry courses and laboratories as well as science electives. Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Promotes the learning and growth of all students by providing highquality instruction andencouraging students to think independently and to express original ideas; Designs units of instruction with measurable outcomes and challenging tasks; Demonstrates instructional practices that reflect cultural proficiency as well as creates a safeand effective classroom environment; Adapts instruction materials and assessments to make challenging material accessible to allstudents including English learners and students with disabilities; Acts as an advisor to a group of students and works to shape curriculum and practice tosupport the whole student; Designs learning experiences that are informed by data and address prioritized standards; Reflects on the effectiveness of lessons units and interactions with students both individuallyand with colleagues and uses insights gained to improve practice and student learning; Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress; Administers formative and summative assessments in alignment with gradelevel needs; and Participates in schoolwide and subject specific professional development and grade levelteam collaborative SCHOOL MISSIONSizer is a public school where students are known personally challenged intellectually andparticipate actively.
