Job Summary
Our client in the Oil & Gas industry is seeking to hire a Stock Accountant responsible for overseeing the management of fuel and lubricant inventories in the Mombasa Region. The role involves ensuring accurate stock recordkeeping conducting regular physical stock counts performing timely reconciliations and monitoring all stockrelated transactions to maintain inventory integrity and support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- The role reports to the Inventory Manager and will be responsible for the following:
- Participate in regular stock counts.
- Perform daily reconciliations of stock movements in ERP system against depot loadings (Gate Pass Recon) and verify with physical records including delivery notes and returned materials authorizations.
- Reconcile daily Oracle invoicing with physical records of dispatched lubricants.
- Ensure accurate and timely receipt of packaging materials in the ERP system and assist the Payables Team with packaging invoice inquiries.
- Reconcile the receipt and dispatch of packaging materials to lubricants production facilities.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of ERP system quantities with external statements and physical stock levels at assigned fuel depots and lubricants warehouses addressing any discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit monthly stock adjustment reports between ERP system and various statements ensuring all adjustments are completed on time.
- Work with the Front Office Manager to request stock pumpovers from KPRL to Shimanzi Terminals through the Supply Team.
- Prepare a monthly fuel pumpover summary based on the BSR and KPC advice notes.
- Review MJT morning report and ullage allocation computations prepared by the Pool Accountants to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a schedule of truck receipts from other depots and share transit loss data with the logistics team for processing.
- Ensure that returned materials authorizations are closed within three days.
- Organize and maintain systematic filing of all accounting documents for easy retrieval.
Requirements
Key qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in finance/accounting/ economics and or related fields.
- Professional accounting certification i.e. CPA(K) ACCA or Equivalent
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting within a commercial organization.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficient in using ERP systems preferably Oracle.
- Experience in preparing financial reports in MS Office applications particularly MS Excel
- A person of high integrity selfdriven and able to work under minimal supervision
