Job Summary
Joining an uppertier IT team this role involves assisting in the administration of Apple and Microsoft systems and their supporting infrastructure to meet the needs of students staff and teaching requirements at a central campus hub. While experience and knowledge in specific Apple Microsoft and Information Technology areas are advantageous training and mentorship will be provided to help applicants develop advanced skills and knowledge. To facilitate accurate monitoring of work hours parttime employees are generally requested to limit their University of Utah employment to Library positions only unless exceptions are granted.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include assisting students faculty and staff with Apple and Microsoftrelated issues such as software and hardware troubleshooting system repairs and replacements. Responding to software or hardware issues through problem ticket systems meetings messaging and email. Managing software installations on systems using various methods including manual installation AppsAnywhere Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager ( SCCM ) and Jamf Pro. Additional tasks include erasing testing imaging and deploying systems across campus labs and locations managed by the team as well as various projects and tasks assigned by the supervisor based on expertise and demand.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah student enrolled in 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
