**This position is fully onsite at ESAero in San Luis Obispo CA**

Position Summary:
The Machine Shop Supervisor oversees all CNC operations and equipment ensuring technicians prioritize valueadded activities and maximize operational efficiency. Responsibilities include setting daily production targets tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and leading continuous improvement efforts such as conducting Gemba walks. This role also involves designing machining fixtures creating and adjusting Gcode using Mastercam and handling HR tasks such as conducting performance reviews approving timecards and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operations Management:

  • Establish and communicate daily production goals for the assigned Value Stream.

  • Monitor and report on KPIs to ensure operational efficiency and quality standards.

  • Lead and support daily Gemba walks to drive process improvements and problemsolving.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment and tooling needs collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering and Management for status updates.

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.

  • Approve timecards and ensure compliance with break and lunch regulations.

  • Partner with HR to manage employee performance including disciplinary actions and recognition programs.

Manufacturing Support & Process Improvement:

  • Develop machining scenarios by designing and making fixtures leveraging Mastercam to generate Gcode for CNC machines up to 5axis with pallet pool.

  • Identify and escalate process or quality concerns while suggesting improvements in safety quality and efficiency.

  • Support Manufacturing Engineers in designing testing and refining products and processes.

  • Operate CNC machines including 5axis systems with pallet pools to produce precision components and validate machining scenarios.

  • Troubleshoot technical challenges and contribute to innovative problemsolving.

  • Train technicians across all skill levels.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 4 years of experience operating and programing CNC machines.

  • Ability to interpret and follow written instructions schematics and technical documentation.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to remain professional in a fastpaced environment.

  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and adherence to safe operating practices.

  • Selfmotivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent work ethic reliability and ability to meet daily production goals.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid drivers license.

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

  • Ability to work onsite as required.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related field.

  • Understand and interpret GD&T.

  • Proficiency with Mastercam and Solidworks.

  • Certifications in IPC and JSTD standards.

  • Experience in inventory and parts management.

  • SLO Partners UAV Completion Certificate.

  • 510 years of industry experience.
