Job Description Summary
The Executive FLIGHT DECK Leader will be responsible for delivering sustainable business results as measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Hoshin Kanri (HK) targets to improve while also leading the development of lean leaders at all levels of the organization. In addition the Executive FLIGHT DECK Leader will partner with other FLIGHT DECK leaders across GE Aerospace to support the overall GE Aerospace lean transformation and drive sustainable results.
Job Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drive radical prioritization of initiatives and resources to execute on shortterm and longer terms business needs (and aligned with LEAN roadmap).
- Drive strategy for KPI performance improvement and accountability while aligning resources needed.
- Help build the 3year vision of the lean transformation across Avionics future state and drive 1year vision.
- Drives results via the Lean Business System prioritizing Safety Quality Delivery and Cost
- Demonstrates Lean capabilities across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles concepts and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream).
- Coach and develop team members at all levels of the organization to help them build lean skills and become lean practitioners.
- Create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. Works to drive faster adoption higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization to increase benefit realization value creation ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.
- Partner closely with other divisions/functions to prioritize and improve critical crossfunctional processes across Aerospace.
- Manage and drive kaizen process to enable continuous improvement across the enterprise.
- Operate as a subject matter expert providing coaching and support to senior leaders improving problem solving capabilities and outcomes.
- Support the function/P&L to accelerate problem solving application.
- Embrace Lean digital tools and rigorous prioritization to drive continuous improvement and increase employee and customer satisfaction.
- Share best practices across different segments of GE Aerospace D&S
- Lead develop and mentor a team of lean leaders as assigned.
- Teach Flight Deck tools create standard work support the Lean organization in fostering continuous improvement internally raising the bar on Lean Leadership across D&S.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Manufacturing or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering product planning or manufacturing with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and 3 years experience applying lean principles in manufacturing and transactional environments.
- Experience successfully leading change & transformation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
