Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Job Role

Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner adhering to all applicable safety environmental and contamination control policies procedures and regulations. Wears safety glasses steel toed shoes gloves ear protection and complete companyprovided uniform while in the workplace. Completes stretching Job Hazard Assessment and inspects tooling/equipment/service truck before start of work. Uses proper Lockout Tag Out procedures fall protection seatbelts in vehicles/forklifts arc flash protection and confined space procedures when exposed to these hazards.

Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes. Maintains high awareness of applicable technical changes in the industry. Maintains necessary set of tools required for job performance to conduct inspections ensuring machines are returned to manufacturers specifications.

Performs inspections of machines to evaluate them for Power Train Power Train and Hydraulic or Complete Machine Rebuilds. Completes required inspection documentation.

Performs inspection of customers machines in the field who are on a Scheduled Inspection Program. Completes required inspection documentation.

Performs inspections of Caterpillar Financial Lease Return Machines when returned.

Perform Courtesy ReChecks of machines after they have had a scheduled Preventative Maintenance service to check for quality of service.

As required fill in for Shop TA Inspectors by performing incoming and outgoing inspections of machines via webbased portal with focus on understanding of product problems by reviewing PIP & PSP SOS and Vision Link History prior to machine inspection downloading Product Status Report from ECM using ET downloading Autolube System (if installed) and pulling SOS Samples

Works in a neat and orderly fashion constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work work area and safety standards. Assists with maintaining proper facility appearance and shop conditions by following proper contamination control guidelines including housekeeping and performing other general maintenance duties.

Approaches work in a positive manner maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team and sets the standard for others to follow. Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. Trains and/or mentors others in department. Assumes Supervisors position temporarily as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Formal Education: High School diploma or GED

Experience: 56 years

Required / Credentials

Completed required training curriculum to be designated a Service Tech I.

Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.

Moderate level capability in the use of a computer Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Not Required but Highly Desired Criteria

Proficient in the use of a computer Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Successfully completed relevant specialized equipment technical courses.

Updating of Knowledge

  • Job requirements change requiring retraining to stay current every 12 years.
