About the Role
Based in BYDs Melbourne office in Mulgrave this role supports our dynamic Aftersales Team. On offer is a Technical Trainer position and your day-to-day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Design and deliver Instructor-Led (classroom and workshop) and Web-Based Training programs including eLearning content and training aids.
- Prepare and maintain training equipment tools and learning resources.
- Deliver face-to-face training sessions ensuring content is engaging accurate and aligned with current technologies.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to students during and after training sessions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealerships to understand training needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with technical support teams to ensure training materials are up-to-date validated and reflect real-world scenarios.
- Maintain and report on student progress attendance and performance records.
- Participate in public events and industry expos to promote BYDs technical training programs.
- Promote BYDs training as a high-quality OEM-standard offering to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the ANZ Technical Training Manager in identifying training needs across different skill levels and audiences.
- Contribute to a performance-driven culture and support a training environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry developments and continuously enhance your own technical and instructional skills.
- Perform other training-related duties as assigned by the ANZ Technical Training Manager.
Key requirements:
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems including engines transmissions electrical systems and strategy-based diagnostics.
- Understanding of modern automotive technologies such as EV systems hybrid powertrains and advanced safety features.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content development tools (e.g. Adobe Suite or similar.
- Familiarity with instructional design and e-learning platforms.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or current equivalent).
- Automotive trade qualification.
- Passion for the automotive industry and new technologies.
- Ability to develop clear engaging training materials (guides presentations assessments).
To be successful in this role the candidate must bring practical experience in automotive repair and diagnostics to effectively connect theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. A systematic approach along with the ability and willingness to adapt in a fast-evolving environment is essential.
