Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The SORRL (Serious Occurrence Reporting and Residential Licensing) IT system is used by the Ministry and service providers for serious occurrence reporting and for inspection and oversight of licensed children s outofhome care service providers. SORRL was implemented by Community Services I&IT Cluster (CSC) to decrease the costs and timelines of application development for MCCSS by leveraging the iACCESS Platform.
- Serious occurrences such as serious illness or injury requiring medical attention are required to be reported to MCCSS by any persons or entities that are funded licensed or directly operated by MCCSS under the authority of the Child Youth and Family Services Act 2017 (CYFSA) the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act 2008 (SIPDDA) and/or the Ministry of Community and Social Services Act (MCSSA).
- SORRL system will be enhanced through two distinct releases in FY 202526 to deliver requested changes.
Requirements
Experience and Skill Set Requirements:
Must Haves:
- Experience in systems design configuration integration and development IT security programming concepts languages and related methods techniques practices and standards in JAVA J2EE JSF HTML/DHTML XML/XSL
- Experience in using opensource software such as Spring myBatis Bootstrap jQuery
- Hands on experience in ntier webbased application development using Oracle database
Nice to have:
- Public Sector Experience
Skill Set Requirements:
Programmer and Development Skills:
- Experience in systems design configuration integration and development IT security programming concepts languages and related methods techniques practices and standards in JAVA J2EE JSF HTML/DHTML XML/XSL
- Experience in using opensource software such as Spring myBatis Bootstrap jQuery
- Hands on experience in ntier webbased application development using Oracle database
- Development experience using emerging technologies such as Web Services web responsive frontend development AODA compliant solutions
- Experience using reporting tools such as Jasper
- Demonstrated experience directly supporting the SDLC (agile/iterative) and implementation of businesscritical software applications and systems
- Hands on experience with Oracle SQL scripts and good understanding of RDMBS
Analytical and ProblemSolving Skill:
- Analytical skills to assess the feasibility of a broad range of options make recommendations and develop customized strategies to resolve unique problems
- Consultation interpersonal and teamwork skills to discuss client requirements lead discussions of system development options and technical process and to work effectively with colleagues and clients
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Public Sector Experience:
- Experience with Public Sector application and information architecture methodologies and GO ITS standards would be an asset
- Familiar with Public Sector Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) process
