The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a dynamic detailoriented and organized individual with excellent communication skills to manage and lead the Divisions Grants and Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO) initiatives to support individuals with developmental disabilities. The Division believes in providing opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities in order to give them control over their life choices. The Division invites qualified candidates who are interested in creating grant programming in support of individuals with developmental disabilities to apply for this exciting position.
Serves as the Grant Programs Administrator.
Directs the Departments administration of all Division of Developmental Disabilities Grant Programs and Notice of Funding Opportunities.
Serves as full line supervisor.
Travels to represent the Department as spokesperson at local state and national organizations and task forces giving presentations interpreting and explaining Division initiatives and interpreting program policy and mandates.
Consults with the Chief of Staff/ Division Director on the comprehensive integration and coordination of program activities and functions relative to other programs Bureaus and Division.
Serves on intradepartmental and interagency planning and advisory groups for preventative programs.
Provides guidance and direction in matters relating to budget and administrative personnel utilization methods of program operations and responsibilities of specialized operations.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completed of four (4) years of college.
Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the fields of health or human services.
Four (4) years of professional experience working with or for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Three (3) years of professional experience writing funding proposals grant proposals/programs or notices of funding opportunities.
Four (4) years of professional supervisory experience of multiple staff assigning work providing guidance to subordinates recommending counseling and/or discipline training staff and implementing organization wide policies.
Two (2) years of experience in developing and implementing programs strategic plans and long and shortterm goals for a public or private organization.
Two (2) years of professional experience evaluating and assessing programs.
Two (2) years of professional experience with data analysis.
Masters Degree in human services finance public policy or similar related field.
Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment including personal computers and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Requires the ability to work outside normal business hours.
Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/545 apply to this position. As a result the employee should be aware that if offered nonState employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment the employee shall prior to accepting any such nonState employment offer notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.
