Job Description
- Understand and communicate the geological framework within the Year 0 and Year 1 production plan to all stakeholders.
- Liaise directly with Short Range Mine Planning Mine Operations and Extraction Operations to support efficient mine execution.
- Monitor geological risks within the twoweek planning window and provide polygon QA/QC and generation support including on weekends or after hours when required.
- Stay current with the mine plan and daily extraction performance by collaborating closely with the Ore Quality Engineer.
- Identify and communicate mine production inhibitors that could impact ore quality.
- Provide accurate daily ore quality forecasts and updates.
- Conduct local field investigations (e.g. test pitting auger drilling) and analyze geological data to validate planned mining surfaces.
- Perform daily field inspections to compare forecasted blending parameters with realtime observations and document any deviations.
- Evaluate and report mine geohazards.
- Conduct oversize QA/QC inspections on a regular basis.
- Support the ore reconciliation process with accurate field insights and data.
- 57 years in construction Geology environment
- Completed civil engineering diploma or equivalent.
- Valid class 5 drivers licence with 5year clean drivers abstract.
- CSTS 2020 CSO WHMIS 2015 certifications
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Detail oriented with a professional approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel to complete geotechnical reporting needs
- Leadership for Safety Excellence would be considered an asset.
