Under general supervision the Department Coordinator will provide essential administrative support to ensure departmental efficiency accuracy and student success.
- Maintains and enters Schedule of Classes (SOC) in SOLAR and checking APDB report for accuracy.
- Carries out student permission number process as determined by the Department Chair including reviewing student eligibility ensuring class prerequisites are met and confirming space availability.
- Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Chair including scheduling organizing and processing documentation needing Chairs approval.
- Coordinates Part-time faculty applicant pools process and monitors recruitment email including assisting in the advertising and processing of applications.
- Collects and organizes faculty information (contact office hours syllabi); creates department event programs and promotional materials; arranges engraving for plaques and certificates for special events; manages departmental supplies and office equipment; coordinates student evaluations of faculty; processes room reservations for specialty lab spaces; maintains and updates faculty and student listservs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible administrative or technical office management experience in an administrative capacity exercising independent judgment and leading the work of others.
- Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in maintaining and entering class schedules using SOLAR with strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing APDB reports and timely notification of class cancellations.
- Ability to effectively manage the student permission number process including vetting student eligibility ensuring compliance with prerequisites and class capacities and coordinating closely with faculty and various university offices.
- Skilled in providing comprehensive administrative support including schedule management detailed record-keeping and efficient processing of departmental paperwork requiring Chair approval.
- Experienced in coordinating departmental communications event planning inventory management purchase order processing and effectively organizing faculty and student information.

- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4058 - $4543 per month dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4058 - $6653 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
- The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office 1 day remote); however this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
