About the role:
Youll play a key role in facilitating major infrastructure projects and ensuring environmental risks are addressed early in the planning process. Youll work with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide strategic advice that supports EPAs mission to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.
In this role you will:
Support the delivery of major infrastructure projects and EPAs involvement in Environment Effects Statement (EES) processes under theEnvironment Effects Act 1978.
Provide timely and authoritative advice on environmental regulation and EPAs legislative framework.
Build and maintain strategic relationships across government and industry to support project outcomes.
Contribute to a high-performing collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement.
Represent EPA in stakeholder engagement promoting awareness of environmental laws and EPAs role as Victorias independent environmental regulator.
Apply problem-solving approaches using EPAs enhanced regulatory tools under theEnvironment Protection Act 2017.
Skills and experience:
Strong project coordination and management skills particularly for complex infrastructure or development projects.
Experience in a development advisory function preferably within government.
Proven ability to plan monitor and deliver services aligned with organisational priorities.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
Understanding of environmental regulation relating to pollution and waste (desirable).
Ability to interpret and apply government legislation regulations and procedures (desirable).
Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science planning or a related field (preferred).
